The beautiful Thornicroft Giraffe unique to the Luangwa valley.







South Luangwa National Park is a picturesque and remote park with lush vegetation. Size 9059 km2. It is home to 60 different animal species, such as elephants, lions, leopards and the endangered wild dog. You will also find huge herds of buffalo and an impressive concentration of hippos living in the Luangwa River and its lagoons. It is home for the Thornicroft Giraffe, Crawshay's Zebra and Cookson's Wildebeest which all are unique to the Luangwa valley. Sadly there are no rhino's since they have all been poached to extinction.

Days are bright and clear and temperatures pleasant during the day. It can be quite cold at night and in the early morning so remember to bring some warm clothes.

Lower Zambezi National Park is set along the banks of the magnificent Zambezi River, which forms the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. On the other side of the river lies Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe, which makes the whole area on both sides of the Zambezi River a massive wildlife sanctuary.

The Lower Zambezi National Park is a truly remote and untouched park with a beautiful landscape and hills that form a dramatic backdrop. Go for a boat cruise and soak in the beautiful setting of the Zambezi River, stocked with hippos and crocodiles. The river offers the most incredible sunrises and sunsets and on the banks you will see elephants and other animals coming down to drink. If you like fishing you won't miss the opportunity to try and catch the famous Tigerfish.

When going on a game drive you will see a great diversity of vegetation and you won't encounter many other game viewing vehicles, which make the experience even more special.

The park is home to approximately 50 mammal species such as elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, hippos, crocodile, zebra, hyenas, jackals and antelope. Size 4092 sq. kms
